Rajasthan Royals have suffered a major setback before the start of the UAE-leg of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021), as England’s star batsman Jos Buttler will not join the team.
Jos Buttler will not be part of the remainder of the IPL 2021 as he and his wife Louise are expecting a second child soon. Buttler had scored his maiden T20 hundred in the Royals’ last game before the tournament’s suspension, against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“Jos Buttler will not be part of the remainder of #IPL2021, as he and Louise are expecting a second child soon. We wish them well, and can’t wait for the newest member of the #RoyalsFamily,” Rajasthan Royals tweeted.
Rajasthan Royals is yet to announced the replacement for Jos Buttler, but interestingly, RR posted a cheeky and cryptic tweet. The tweet likely confirms that they have signed Kiwi player Glenn Phillips as Buttler’s replacement. However, we might have to wait for an official confirmation regarding the same.
