Australia’s left-arm fast bowler Jason Behrendorff will return to Mumbai Indians (MI) after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) traded him ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023).
Behrendorff was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore at the 2022 auction for his base price of Rs 75 lakh but didn’t get any game-time.

The 32-year-old was a part of the Mumbai Indians during their title-winning runs in 2018 and 2019, but got a chance to play only in the 2019 season. In 2018, Behrendorff appeared in five matches for the side, picking as many wickets at an economy rate of 8.68.
In 2021, Chennai Super Kings drafted him as a replacement for Josh Hazlewood. He did not make an appearance in the first half of the tournament, and Hazlewood returned when the competition resumed in the UAE. In IPL 2022, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the auction.
Behrendorff has played 12 ODIs and 9 T20Is for Australia, in which he has picked 23 wickets. Overall, in T20 cricket, the tall bowler has taken 117 wickets in 105 games at an economy rate of 7.41.
