Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has proposed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCC) to host the 13th season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) in Sri Lanka. While BCCI has suspended the IPL 2020 under further notice.
Speaking to Lankadeepa Newspaper, SLC President Shammi Silva, “it is said that if the tournament is cancelled it will be a huge financial loss to the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the tournament partners. Therefore, if the tournament is held in another country, the loss will be minimized.”
“I think if the tournament is held in our country, Indian cricket fans will have the opportunity to watch TV or the tournament. IPL The tournament has already been held in South Africa,” he said.
Currently, SLC has prospered the to Indian cricket board, BCCI is yet to respond on it.
“We are waiting for the response of the Indian cricket board to our proposal,” he said.
“If India decides to host the tournament in Sri Lanka, we are prepared to provide facilities with the approval of our health and other authorities. It will be a big tournament for SLC as well,” he added.
