Players auction for the 14th season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2021 Auction) is scheduled to take place on February 18, 2021 in Chennai. Cricket viewers are excited as they are heading more closer to the IPL 2021. Here is everything you should know before the IPL Auction 2021:
1) Purse Available
The eight franchises have a total available purse of Rs 196.6 crore. Breakdown of purse value of each franchise are listed below:

2) Slots Available
A total of 61 spots are available in eight franchise team including 22 overseas slots. A total 292 players; 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players & 3 players from Associate Nations will be up for grabs. Slots availability for each team are broken down below:

The maximum squad strength for each team is that of 25 players. However, every team must have minimum 18 players in their respective squads. Also a team can have maximum 8 overseas players.

3) RTM (Right To Match)
If you don’t know, this time RTM (Right to Match) will be not available to the franchise, it is only available in Mega-Auction which is likely to take next year ahead of IPL 2022. Right to Match card allows the franchise to buy back its player during the auction by matching the highest bid made for the player by another franchise once the bidding is over.
