The ninth edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2021) is set to kickstart on 26th August 2021. The tournament gets underway on 26 August with the first match seeing current champions Trinbago Knight Riders taking on Guyana Amazon Warriors. All the matches of CPL 2021 will be held at a single venue i.e., Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Ahead of the CPL 2021, two teams changed their names, Barbados Tridents have been renamed to Barbados Royals, while Saint Lucia Zouks have become Saint Lucia Kings.
West Indies’ limited-overs skipper Kieron Pollard will lead the Trinbago Knight Riders, South Africa’s Faf du Plessis has been appointed St Lucia Kings captain. The Guyana Amazon Warriors has named wicket-keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran as their captain and Jason Holder will be leading Barbados Royals in CPL 2021. Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots have retained their captain Rayad Emrit, Barbados Royals has picked Rovman Powell as their skipper for the CPL 2021.
The final squads for the CPL 2021 have been confirmed. There have been alternations to the teams as a result of changes to player availability.
