England have announced 16-man squad for the ODI series against Pakistan starting from July 8 at Cardiff. Tom Banton comes in place of Dawid Malan, who withdrew his name due to personal reasons.
The rest of the players who were included for the current series against Sri Lanka will be there for Pakistan ODIs. England have already clinched the unassailable lead of 2-0 against Sri Lanka.
The Third ODI to be played in Bristol on Sunday where Coach Graham Thorpe already indicated to play with the bench strength in the 3rd ODI.
England will name their T20I squad after the ODI series. They are considering the T20I series very important as it will help them to prepare for ICC WT20 2021.
“Potentially the Pakistan series could push us further. We’ve been pleased with our own performances. We didn’t want any complacency to creep in. And because of the competition we have, the players want to put in good performances,” said Graham Thorpe on the Pakistan series.
