Shoaib Akhtar is under lockdown, and constantly interacting with his fans on social media. On Monday Shoaib Akhtar posted a video on his YouTube Chanel where he talks about how cricket cannot start now and will take at least one year to resume due to coronavirus.
“If you ask me honestly, I do not know for how long the coronavirus outbreak will last, until and unless it not known that how many people are infected, one cannot go ahead with any kind of cricket anywhere,” Shoaib Akhtar said in the video.
“I do not see cricket being played for at least a year because of the coronavirus. I see the virus troubling us for one year, these are troublesome times, I just hope we come out of this stronger,” he added.
“The situation is terrible, it is very tricky. I am not seeing the virus going for at least one year. But, we a group as different communities will come out of it. The world is not starting for the next year. How can cricket start,” he said.
All the sporting events have come to a halt because of coronavirus pandemic. In such a situation all cricket events have postponed or cancelled. The biggest T20 league in the world, IPL has also postponed indefinitely until further notice.
