The first match of the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) is all set to be played on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the preparation is in full flow.
All franchises have reached UAE and are training and preparing for the IPL 2020. Now, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday left for UAE to oversee preparations for the tournament.
“My first flight in 6 months to Dubai for IPL…Crazy life changes,” Ganguly posted on his Instagram handle with a picture in which he is wearing a mask and face shield, part of the BCCI’s Standard Operating Procedure while flying amid the pandemic.
IPL Governing Council Chairman Brijesh Patel is already in UAE from past 15 days. It is also expected that BCCI secretary Jay Shah and treasure Arun Dhumal will reach Dubai by tonight.
BCCI have released the scheduled on Sunday (September 6), Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings play the opening match on September 19 in Abu Dhabi.
