Mumbai Indians (MI) have announced Lasith Malinga as a bowling coach for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). Lasith Malinga will replace Shane Bond as Mumbai Indians bowling coach.
Lasith Malinga will join the Mumbai Indians coaching team led by Mark Boucher, and his former teammate and MI batting coach Kieron Pollard.

Lasith Malinga extends his involvement within the #OneFamily with MI as his third team – Bowling coach for MI New York in Major League Cricket and MI Cape Town in SA20.

Malinga has spent close to 13 years with Mumbai Indians since 2008 – 11 years as a player, 1 year (IPL 2018) as MI bowling mentor and 2023 MI NY Bowling Coach, having won 7 trophies with the #OneFamily (4 IPL, 2 CLT20, 1 MLC as bowling coach).
