For the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd has been traded to the Mumbai Indians (MI) from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Lucknow Super Giants traded him to MI for his base price of INR 50 Lakhs before the mini-auction (IPL 2024 Auction) scheduled next month.
“Romario Shepherd has been traded to Mumbai Indians (MI) from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) during the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) trading window ahead of the TATA IPL 2024. Shepherd, who has played 4 IPL matches, representing LSG and Sunrisers Hyderabad, was traded to MI for his existing fee of INR 50 Lakh,” IPL said in a statement.
Shepherd, who has played four IPL matches, representing LSG for one match in IPL 2023 and remaining for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
During the IPL 2022 auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad made a significant investment, spending a substantial Rs 7.75 crore to acquire Romario Shepherd’s services. However, despite this high price tag, he got to play in only three games during his debut season and scored 58 runs at a strike rate of 141.46 while also picking three wickets with the ball.
