The 17th edition of the IPL 2024 officially kick-started as the BCCI president Roger Binny, BCCI honorary secretary Jay Shah, Vice President Rajeev Shukla, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal, BCCI Treasurer Ashish Shelar along with AR Rehman, Sonu Nigam, Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar graced the stage alongside Chennai Super Kings captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain, Faf du Plessis . Both captains clicked a picture with the IPL 2024 trophy amidst loud cheer from the crowd.

The scintillating musical performances are followed by a spectacle of fireworks. The energy of crowd is unbelievable and the players also seem to enjoy the grand performances at the opening ceremony of IPL 2024.

The AI system that generated various images, brought the IPL roller coaster at the end which had the names of various captains on it. The ceremony came to an end with the entire stadium reverberating to the tunes of Jai Ho by AR Rahman and Co and the fireworks followed.
