The 25-year-old Kotian recently had a stellar Ranji Trophy season with Mumbai where he picked up 29 wickets and amassed 502 runs in 10 matches with an average over 41. He had scored a vital 120 not out against Baroda and followed it up with a vital 89 in the semi-final against Tamil Nadu.

Kotian has played 23 T20s in his playing career and claimed 24 scalps at an economy rate of 6.07.
The youngster has joined the Royals squad in Jaipur ahead of their opening game against the Lucknow Super Giants which is scheduled for Sunday, 24th March 2024.
Zampa, who was retained by Rajasthan ahead of last year’s auction for INR 1.5 crore, decided to pull out of the tournament following a busy season for Australia.
He played six matches last season for the 2008 champions and picked up eight wickets at 23.50 including three for 22 in Rajasthan Royals’ win against Chennai Super Kings.
Before that, in 2020, he played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Before that, he represented Rising Pune Supergiants in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The Australian leg-spinner opted out citing the heavy workload leading up to the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
Kumar Sangakkara, Director of Cricket, Rajasthan Royals, welcomed the player to the franchise, “Tanush was one of the players we had identified and have followed very closely over the last year, given his versatility and potential. He has since produced consistent performances and has also had an exceptional Ranji Trophy season. We believe he can add more value and depth to the team’s set-up with his all-round attributes, and we are looking forward to having him contribute to the franchise this season.”
