Former New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori has replaced West Indies legendary batter Brian Lara as SunRisers Hyderabad head coach, the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise announced on Monday.
The latest announcement meant that the Sunrisers continue their constant change of head coaches, with Vettori becoming the fifth head coach in over the last six seasons.
SRH made the announcement on their social media handles.
“Kiwi legend Daniel Vettori joins the #OrangeArmy as Head Coach. Welcome, coach!,” Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Twitter to make the announcement.

Vettori has been the assistant coach of the Australia men’s team and also previously coached Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
He was Royal Challengers Bangalore’s head coach in the IPL from 2014 to 2018. In this period, RCB made it to the playoffs in 2015 and finished runners-up in 2016. Vettori is also the coach of Birmingham Phoenix in the men’s Hundred competition.
Daniel Vettori has replaced Brian Lara as head coach. Brian Lara had replaced Tom Moody as Sunrisers head coach ahead of the IPL 2023. Lara worked as SRH batting coach before taking over as the head coach. Under Lara, the 2016 champions finished last in the 10-team league after four wins in 14 matches.
“As our 2 year association with Brian Lara comes to an end, we bid adieu to him. Thank you for the contributions to the Sunrisers. We wish you all the best for your future endeavours,” Sunrisers said in a statement.
