Ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL 2024-25), Odisha FC announced that the head coach Sergio Lobera has put pen to paper on a contract extension, adding an extra year to his original two-year deal. This means the Spanish tactician will lead the Kalinga Warriors until 2026, bringing much-needed stability and continuity to the club.
In his debut season, Lobera made a significant impact, showcasing impressive statistics and achievements across all competitions.

He managed a total of 38 matches, securing victories in 21, drawing seven, while experiencing 10 losses. His team achieved their highest-ever finish in the league stage, finishing fourth in the ISL 2023-24 campaign. They accumulated the highest number of points in a single ISL season and also remained undefeated at the Kalinga Stadium throughout the season.
Under his leadership, the team maintained an unbeaten streak across 15 games across various tournaments that included the AFC Cup, where Odisha FC topped their group and were winners of the South Zone.

Lobera’s arrival in 2023 was a coup for Odisha FC.
