Professional athletes in Spain including La Liga players can start their training from May 4. This decision come after Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced the ease of lockdown in four phase.
Individual training is the part of Phase 0 -Preparatory Phase – of lifting lockdown measures which will be done in four stages of two months.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said, “The first phase, or phase 0, is the preparation to transition phase or the de-escalation phase, which we are already in.”
“In the best-case scenario, this de-escalation phase will take a minimum of six weeks and the maximum duration we want to see is eight weeks for the whole of Spain,” he added.
Training sessions at club centres will be allowed in Phase 1, which gets underway on May 11. Only six players can be on the pitch at the same time. Before returning to the training sessions at club centers, players will have to go through the COVID -19 screening.
Detailed protocol have been sent to the clubs by La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation. Individual training will be followed by individual practices, a smaller group session and then full squad sessions.
