On the first day of the first Test match of India Tour of West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, after winning toss, West Indies choose to bowl. India started Day 2 with 203/6 in 68.5 overs, with Jadeja and Pant on the crease. India was bowled out for 297 in the first inning just before lunch on the day 2.
In the first session of India added 93 runs with losing remaining 4four wickets. Ravindra Jadeja scored 58 runs, including 80 runs partnership with Ishant Sharma for the 8th wicket. Of the India innings, Ajinkya was the highest run-scorer, scored 80 runs off 163 balls with 14 boundaries.
West Indies bowlers will be disappointed letting India reach a good score on this pitch. For West Indies, Kemar Roach was impressive taking 4 wickets, including Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara. Shannon Gabriel took 3 wickets, Roston Chase took 2 wickets and Jason Holder 1 wicket.
For West Indies first inning Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell opened the inning. West Indies lost wickets their top order in quick succession, for 36/0 to 50/3 in just 13 overs. Day 2 ended with West Indies trailing by 108 runs, West Indies were 189-8 when umpires called for stumps.
Day 2 belonged to Ishant Sharma, took his 9th 5-wicket haul and also 80 runs partnership with Jadeja for the 8th wicket. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took 1-1 wicket each. Jasprit Bumrah also took his 50th Test wicket.
