India won the 2nd Test match of the 2-match Test series played at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica. Like the first Test match, India also wrapped up the second test match on the fourth day. On the third day at stumps, West Indies were 45/2 while batting in the second innings. When West Indies came to bat on the day for they needed 423 runs to win or have to bat six sessions to draw the match.
India needed eight wickets to win the match, which they did in 46 overs of the day 4 and won the match by 257 runs. Shamarh Brooks was the only player to score 50 runs in an inning from West Indies side in this Test series. Jermaine Blackwood and Jason Holder delayed India win at the end by scoring 38 and 39 runs respectively.
Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took 3-3 wickets each, while Ishant Sharma took 2 wickets and star of the first inning Jasprit Bumrah had to settle for only 1 wicket. Hanuma Vihari was Man of the Match for brilliant batting in both innings.
Some records and stats have also to look after this match, Virat Kohli surpassed MS Dhoni in the most Test wins as India captain by winning 28 Test matches. India is on the top of the points table of the ICC World Test Champions with 120 points.
