Paris Saint-Germain announced the extension of Zoumana Camara’s contract as head coach of the U19 team for a further season. The coach is now committed to the club from the capital until 30 June 2024.
A Rouge et Bleu defender between 2007 and 2015, Zoumana Camara first became assistant coach of the Paris Saint-Germain first team once his career was over.
Since 2021, he has been the head coach of the club’s U19 team.
This season, Zoumana Camara finished first in the group stage of the Youth League, before losing to Dortmund on penalties in the last 16. In the French league, the Paris U19s are still in contention for the title at the end of the season.
“We are delighted to continue the adventure with Zoumana Camara. Since he took charge of our U19 team, he has been able to pass on his knowledge and experience at the highest level to our young players. His work and that of his staff have allowed the talents of our Youth Academy to grow. We are convinced that he will continue to help them progress, both individually and collectively, to become elite footballers,” explained Luca Cattani, Director of the Football Academy.
“I am very happy to extend my contract for another season and to continue the work I have been doing with the U19 team for two years now. Being in charge of the second team at the club is a real responsibility for me. We have very talented players in the Youth Academy. My goal is to ensure their development and to guide them to reach the highest level possible while continuing to enrich my experience and skills as a coach,” added Zoumana Camara.
